DESCRIPTION
Antique early-20th Century French rare and magnificent six piece tea and coffee service on tray, comprising a samovar with burner, coffee pot, teapot, covered sugar bowl, cream jug and strainer, all on a massive tray, the vase-shaped bodies applied with leafy bands, solid silver leaf-capped handles.
The impressive solid silver tray is engraved with a very decorative monogram. The service is exceptionally heavy and impressive (8,780 kilos in total), by a very important French silversmith and retailer, Tetard Freres.
Each piece is Hallmarked French silver (950 high-standard), Paris, year 1900's, Maker's mark for Tetard Freres, one of the greatest silversmiths and retailers active in Paris in the late 19th / early 20th century.
