Antique 20th Century Russian World War I commemorative goblets, attributed to the House of Fabergé. They are crafted from a combination of copper and brass, featuring a distinct neoclassical profile with flared bowls, baluster stems, and broad, weighted bases.
The slender stems rise from domed bases inset with a circular arrangement of copper medallions, including portrait roundels of Russian emperors, such as Alexander I, Nicholas I, Alexander II, and Alexander III, accompanied by inscriptions like “ЦАРЯ” (Tsar) and the date “1883 ГОДЪ,” referencing the coronation of Alexander III.
On the goblets themselves are mounted medallions, one depicting the Russian Imperial double-headed eagle, crowned and bearing the arms of various territories, with the Cyrillic inscription "С НАМИ БОГЪ" ("God is with us") arched above, Russia's imperial motto. Produced during a time of patriotic fervour and wartime austerity, these goblets exemplify the kind of high-quality, symbolically rich objects Fabergé possibly created during the final years of the Russian Empire.
