DESCRIPTION

Antique early-20th Century Imperial Russian solid silver and hand painted enamel, cushion shaped pill box, all side decorated with traditional Russian stylised flowers, foliage designs in polychrome cloisonne' enamel, the lid set with a gold and emerald thumbpiece, the snuff box is richly parcel gilded inside.

Hallmarked Russian silver 84 (875 standard), Moscow, year 1908-1926, Maker's mark 11A, (11th Artel), Active in Moscow between 1908 and 1917. It is one of the most famous for the high quality of its production and it supplied Fabergé and the Imperial court. The 11th Artel produced mostly cloisonné and guilloche enamel tea and coffee sets, sugar and tea/coffee spoons, kovshi and tea strainers in the traditional Russian style with Art Nouveau influences.
