ANTIQUE 19thC IMPERIAL RUSSIAN SOLID SILVER CUTLERY FLATWARE, KHLEBNIKOV c.1888

DESCRIPTION

Antique 19th Century Imperial Russian Solid Silver 12 persons flatware cutlery set, comprising of 12 dinner forks (one matched, Russian hallmarks for Agafanov), 10 dinner knives, 12 dinner spoons, 12 dessert forks (two matched, one Russian marks for Agafanov, the other unmarked), 12 dessert knives, 11 dessert spoons, 12 tea spoons (three matched, one Russian marks for Agafanov, the other two Austrian), 11 pastry forks, fish serving fork and fish serving knives, ladle. The set features a very elegant design, by one of the greatest Russian silversmiths.

Each part is Hallmarked Russian silver (84 for 875 standard), Moscow, Assayer's mark for A. Romanov year 1888 and 1889, Maker's mark in Cyrillic for Ivan Khlebnikov with Imperial Warrant. Khlebnikov is considered one of the best Russian silversmiths operating in the 19th Century (for more information please follow this link).
