Architect Ezio Didone was born August 21, 1939 in Milan, Italy. He graduated in architecture at the Milan Polytechnic (Politecnico di Milano) in 1967, with a thesis on Industrial Design. His first years of professional activity were at the architect Frattini’s office. In 1970 he opened his own studio in Milan, dealing with Industrial Design, advertising graphics and architecture. From 1971 to 1975 he was part of the DAM group (Designers Associati Milano) with Studio G.14 and architect Colombi. He designed lamps, handles, decorative objects, household items, cutlery, chairs, tables, furniture, fabrics, electronic products and technical lamps. Ezio Didone received many awards, among others a design award for the Diva lamp produced by Arteluce (Flos) in 1987.

La Murrina is a comapny that dates back to the 1960s in Murano where there was a small furnace managed by a group of glass-worker masters. The company started realising prestigious objects in blown glass created by the owners of the furnace. In 1974, the property of the furnace came under the control of a family from Milan, who already produced items for lighting in glass and metal. Hence, the company started to be managed as a corporation. “La Murrina” trademark was registered all around the world and its collections started to spread worldwide. In 2000, La Murrina had its first collaborations with famous designers and architects who extended the production with their contemporary design collection realised in accordance with old glass blowing techniques.
