20th Century Japanese Meiji period silver bowl, double walled, chased and embossed with blossoming irises and cranes in high relief on matted ground, shaped floral rim applied with a pronounced boarder and standing on three stylised bamboo feet.

Hallmarked Japanese silver, 'Jun-gin' mark, meaning 'pure silver' (950+ high grade silver), also Sterling, makers mark Kuhn & Komor.

DESCRIPTION

Antique early 20th Century Japanese Meiji period solid silver bowl, double walled, chased and embossed with blossoming irises and cranes in high relief on matted ground, shaped floral rim applied with a pronounced boarder and standing on three stylised bamboo feet.

The base is Hallmarked Japanese silver, 'Jun-gin' mark, meaning 'pure silver' (950+ high grade silver), also Sterling, (used on items made for export), these marks are used primary in during the Meiji period (1868-1912) and makers mark Kuhn & Komor (also known colloquially as K&K, was a Hungarian multinational luxury jewelry and specialty retailer, having headquarters in Yokohama, Hong Kong and Shanghai. K&K produced jewelry, sterling silver, china, crystal, stationery, and personal accessories. K&K was renowned in East Asia for its luxury goods, also being called the "Asprey of Asia.)
