DESCRIPTION
Antique early-20th Century Russian Faberge 14k gold cigarette case, the lid decorated with Pan-Slavic style, depicting a lady in traditional Russian dress playing a harp, set with sapphire cabochons and old-cut diamonds. Hallmarked Russian gold 56 (585 standard), St-Petersburg, Maker's mark Faberge in Cyrillic, also with later Warsaw import mark (1931-1963) for 14ct gold. Fabergé has always been synonym of opulence and finest quality. The combination of precious materials and supreme craftsmanship applies both to non-utilitarian objects such as eggs, miniature animals and flowers and practical utility items. These outstanding objects made between 1885 and 1917 are displayed in the most important international museums, treasured by collectors and sought after at auctions.
