20th Century French Cartier Art Deco 14K gold compact, of circular form, set with diamonds, the whole box is decorated with champleve' black enamel with sunburst gold motif to cover and back. The inside of the cover is set with a mirror. Hallmarked 14k gold (585 standard), signed CARTIER, the box dates to the 1920's. Such iconic pieces are very valuable and sought after, often associated to the designer Charles Jacqueau.

Antique 20th Century French Cartier Art Deco 14 Carat gold compact, of circular form, set with diamonds, the whole box is decorated with champleve' black enamel with sunburst gold motif to cover and back. The inside of the cover is set with a mirror. Hallmarked 14k gold (585 standard), signed CARTIER, the box dates to the 1920's. This is a stunning example of the early Art Deco pieces made by Cartier and such pieces were presented to the Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs at Industriels Modernes (Paris, 1925), that marked the high point of the first phase of Art Deco. Such iconic pieces are very valuable and sought after, often associated to the designer Charles Jacqueau.
