ANTIQUE 19thC UNUSUAL CHINESE OR DUTCH SOLID GOLD & FILIGREE SNUFF BOX c1850
19th Century 18 carat gold snuff box, rectangular form with rounded sides, the hinged cover is applied with a stunning filigree panel with scrolls, shells and flowers.
The box appears to be unmarked (tested box shows 18 carat gold, the filigree shows 20+ carat gold), by the style it appears to emulate the late Georgian / early-Victorian snuff boxes, dating from 1830 to 1850, it is probably Chinese Export or possibly Dutch Colonial.
