19th Century Swiss 18k gold snuff box, of rectangular shape with rounded corners, lid inset with a round hand painted enamel miniature of a Swiss lady, wearing head-dress, translucent embroidered gown, holding a letter addressed to Miss Shambrier of Geneva. The box decorated with black enamelled border, lid engraved with urns, leaves and birds on matted ground, the side and base decorated with intricate engine turning.
