Antique 19th Century French magnificent three-coloured 18k gold snuff box, of round form, engraved with cross-hatch decoration on engine turned ground, within flowers and laurel leaves boarders. The lid conceals a compartment for a small miniature. Comes in its original retail box. Hallmarked with French guarantee marks (750 gold standard), the box dates to the late 1830's, Makers mark indistinct.
