Antique early 20th Century Japanese Sumida Gawa vase, the turned body with a low narrow waist and a high shoulder rising to a large everted neck covered with a glaze of various shades of red, black and brown, black dripping down the shoulders, the body with applied monkeys in biscuit surrounding a white glazed parrot, one monkey wearing a white and blue shirt and another a scarf, makers mark under-glaze to the reverse.
