19th Century German Jugendstil Silver & glass extremely decorative wine claret jug, tapering glass body beautifully and profusely etched with a detailed foliage, leaving red flowers embellished by gilt accents, the silver mount is chased with a lovely Art Nouveu decoration, angular handle in a similar style. Hallmarked German silver (800), year 1900-02, Maker's mark for Wilhelm Binder, manufacturer specializing in Art Nouveau and novelty pieces.

The hinged cover and side are engraved with an inscription and the date 1902.
