A superb 20th Century Continental solid silver & clear glass novelty claret jug, realistically modelled as a duck with its head slightly raised, with a silver sprung-hinged head. The clear glass body with handle attached is realistically modelled with etched frosted glass plumage and two tucked in feet.
Such novelty claret jugs are rare and extremely sought after. it is easy to imagine the appeal behind these objects which would have made wonderful items to wow their guests.
