Antique 20th Century Swiss Solid Silver-gilt commemorative steeple cups with covers, impressively large, both featuring stunning workmanship, made in the Renaissance style, standing on a plain octagonal domed base, the body is profusely decorated with arches and scrolls imitating a Gothic cathedral, the steeple covers are in the same style.

Antique 20th Century Swiss Solid Silver-gilt commemorative steeple cups with covers, impressively large, both featuring stunning workmanship, made in the Renaissance style, standing on a plain octagonal domed base, the body is profusely decorated with arches and scrolls imitating a Gothic cathedral, the steeple covers are in the same style. This pair bear enamel plaques underneath the lids to celebrate a coming together of two important families (Burchhardt from Basel and Estenburger from Nuremberg), on the foot an engraving of identical family crests and dated 1918. Hallmarked Swiss silver (900 standard), Basel, year 1910's, Maker's mark Ulrich Sauter.
