Antique 19th Century French Louis XV style mantel clock, a captivating piece fashioned from Sevres style porcelain and adorned with ormolu accents. Atop the clock rests a striking 'bleu celeste' painted porcelain urn, complemented by a fruit cone finial. Ornate ormolu chains with hanging tassels grace the handles on either side of the urn, while the base boasts intricate floral foliage and acanthus leaf motifs.

DESCRIPTION

Antique 19th Century French Louis XV style mantel clock, a captivating piece fashioned from Sevres style porcelain and adorned with ormolu accents. Atop the clock rests a striking 'bleu celeste' painted porcelain urn, complemented by a fruit cone finial. Ornate ormolu chains with hanging tassels grace the handles on either side of the urn, while the base boasts intricate floral foliage and acanthus leaf motifs. The focal point of the clock is its centered dial, delicately painted roses and a charming bird scene adorn the dial.

Two keyholes within the dial allow for winding of the inner clock mechanism. Gilt Roman numeral hour marks adorn the dial, with an additional keyhole positioned above the XII marker.  Either side of the clock is embellished with two Rococo style painted scenes featuring cherubim amidst floral gardens. Resting upon a gilt wood base, the clock is supported by legs intricately fashioned in the likeness of acanthus leaves, adding to its elegance and grandeur.
