Antique 19th Century French garniture, cast bronze in ormolu, a striking ensemble featuring a pair of seven-light candelabras and a mantel clock. The clock is adorned with foliage and crowned with two regal ram heads, with the signature prominently displayed in fine font on the clock face, "G. J. Levy / Paris / Rue Sevigne, 29". The rear of the clock reveals its open casing, stamped with "E.B" and the serial number 3215. The garniture is richly embellished with floral wreaths, rosettes, and a charming mural in the lower centre depicting dancing puttis.

DESCRIPTION

Antique 19th Century French garniture, cast bronze in ormolu, a striking ensemble featuring a pair of seven-light candelabras and a mantel clock. Reflecting the opulence of the Napoleon III era, this garniture embodies the lavish aesthetic of the period. Napoleon III style, prevalent in France during the mid-19th century, favoured ornate decoration and luxurious materials such as the ormolu used in this garniture.
