DESCRIPTION

A scale model of the SS Harcalo steam boat cargo ship. The SS Harcalo was built in 1933 by Lithgows Limited in Glasgow, Scotland for the National S.S. Co. Limited. It only sailed for seven years as it was hit by a mine on the 6th June 1940 whilst on a voyage from Beni Saf (Algeria) to London transporting iron ore, with the loss of three crew. It was beached off the coast of Ramsgate in Kent where it was declared a total loss.

CONDITION

In Good condition - wear and tear expected with age.
