DESCRIPTION
These grocers scales consist of a cast iron base with a ridged brass column supporting a cast iron balancing arm from which a copper pan is suspended at either side. The copper pans were favoured when weighing food as copper has hygienic properties. A large decorative piece for a kitchen or high end restaurant c.1900's.
