MID 20thC ART DECO ICE BUCKET ON STAND BY ELKINGTON & CO
A good quality ice bucket on stand made in England in the first half of the last century. The ice bucket is made by a very famous English maker called Elkington, one of the fastest producers of silverplated items and the manufacturer of some incredible centrepieces. They were the first company to introduce electroplating thanks to the advent of electricity. They carried on making fine items of silver and silver plate well into the next century and received several Royal Warrants.

They carried on making fine items of silver and silver plate well into the next century and received several Royal Warrants.
Its plain looped handles, straight lines and tapered body gives a very strong heart Art Deco feel to the item and fits perfectly into the associated stand. It is a wonderful item as useful today for keeping wine or champagne cool either to the side of a dining table or in any seating area. An extremely elegant and very refined piece of interior design.
CONDITION
In Great Condition - very good, some light scratches. Stand and bucket are a “marriage“ from the same period and were not born together but fit perfectly.
