This large model of the Model 95 Double Deringer. From 1866 until the cessation of production in 1935, Remington Arms crafted in excess of 150,000 Model 95 over-under double-barreled derringers, commonly referred to as the Model 95 Double Deringer. This unique firearm was exclusively manufactured in .41 rimfire caliber. Remington's ingenious derringer design ingeniously augmented capacity while preserving a compact form by incorporating a second barrel atop the first, with the barrels pivoting upward for reloading. Each barrel accommodated a single round, with a hammer-mounted cam seamlessly alternating between the top and bottom barrels. This model existed in four distinct variations.

The .41 Short ammunition, known for its relatively sluggish velocity of around 425 feet per second (130 m/s), was considered considerably slower than contemporary .45 ACP rounds. However, modern chronograph testing has unveiled that the original ammunition actually achieved velocities ranging from 600 to 700 feet per second (approximately 6-700 F/S), which surpasses the initial estimates made in the 1960s when early chronographs were used for testing.
Remington also produced the .32 Short Rimfire "Rider Magazine Repeating" pistol. This compact sidearm featured a magazine tube beneath the barrel, capable of holding five rounds of ammunition in addition to one in the chamber. The muzzle velocity for this pistol fell within the range of 675 to 700 feet per second, utilizing a 60-grain .32 bullet. What set this particular model apart was its hammer, which not only retracted the breach block but also raised a new cartridge from the magazine during the cocking process. Releasing the grip on the hammer closed the breech block while maintaining the hammer in the cocked position.
