Antique 19th Century Chinese export solid silver epergne. The central trumpet-shaped vase is fitted with a dark red glass top section. Two dragon-form handles are mounted to each side, while a third dragon rises from the base, depicted facing upwards and breathing fire. The silver work is intricately formed into scrolling shapes, finely representing flames. It stands on a pierced circular hardwood base. Unmarked, but acid tests indicate a silver purity of 900+ grade.
