20th Century Chinese Export Silver impressively large, full size six piece tea set, comprising of coffee pot, teapot, covered sugar bowl, sugar tongs, milk jug and silver mounted wooden tray, each body is embossed with a lovely bamboo-leaf design on a matted ground, cast handles and spout modeled as bamboo branches. Hallmarked with Chinese silver character marks (acid tested they show a 900+ standard purity), retailer's mark TUCKCHANG for Tuck Chang & Company.

Antique early-20th Century rare Chinese Export Solid Silver impressively large, full size six piece tea set, comprising of coffee pot, teapot, covered sugar bowl, sugar tongs, milk jug and silver mounted wooden tray, each body is embossed with a lovely bamboo-leaf design on a matted ground, cast handles and spout modeled as bamboo branches.
The set is particularly large and fine, it comes with the original large silver mounted wooden gallery tray, with raised sides beautifully carved with a scrolling foliate and floral decoration, the silver handles also simulating bamboo branches. Complete Chinese Export Silver services such this are extremely rare and sought after. The centre is set with a silver plaque bearing a memorial French inscription "Souvenir offert a Mr J Trochet par ses camarades de la Compagnie Francaise de Tramways et d'Eclairage Electriques de Shanghai, 1912-1926".
Each piece is Hallmarked with Chinese silver character marks (acid tested they show a 900+ standard purity), silversmith and retailer's mark TUCKCHANG (for Tuck Chang & Company, active in Shanghai circa 1870-1920, one of the best known, often referred as the "Wang Hing" of Shanghai, for more information please see A. Von Ferscht, Chinese Export Silver 1785-1940, 4th edition 2015).
