19th Century Chinese silver set of four tea cups and saucers, hand crafted and intricately engraved and applied with dragon shaped twin handles, the set was undoubtedly was inspired by the earlier export examples made in the late 17th century.

Saucers hallmarked with Chinese character marks, Maker's mark for Da Xing.

DESCRIPTION

Antique 19th Century Chinese solid silver set of four tea cups and saucers, hand crafted and intricately engraved and applied with dragon shaped twin handles, the set was undoubtedly was inspired by the earlier export examples made in the late 17th century.

Saucers hallmarked with Chinese character marks (acid tested shows 900+ standard), Maker's mark for Da Xing, important silversmith active both in Canton and Singapore in the late 19th century. Da Xing is renowned for its very fine craftmanship and produced silver pieces for the welthiest and most prominent Peranakan families in Malacca. For more information please see A.
