19th Century Chinese silver tazza, the round pierced floral bowl resting on a vase shaped stem, the inside of the bowl finely and profusely chased with chrysanthemums, the outside boarder engraved with across-key decoration and mounted with two realistically modelled, perched bird handles, the domed foot decorated with cherry blossom and acanthus leaves.

Hallmarked Chinese silver (90 for 900 standard), Maker Woshing.

DESCRIPTION

Antique 19th Century Chinese very unusual solid silver tazza, the round pierced floral bowl resting on a vase shaped stem, the inside of the bowl finely and profusely chased with chrysanthemums, the outside boarder engraved with across-key decoration and mounted with two realistically modelled, perched bird handles, the domed foot decorated with cherry blossom and acanthus leaves.

The base is Hallmarked Chinese silver (90 for 900 standard, tested is 900+ standard), Maker Woshing (Kiangse rd, Shanghai, active 1850-1925), for more information please see A. Von Ferscht, Chinese Export Silver 1785-1940, 4th edition 2015, page 794).
