DESCRIPTION

Antique late-19th Century Chinese solid silver decorative fruit bowl, of traditional round form, shaped arched rim with drop shaped panels, the body showing a compendium of the finest techniques and styles used in Chinese Export silver. The decoration is extremely crisp and detailed, the bowl shows almost all the patterns and decorative techniques used at the time, like the engraved stylized scrolling foliage, bamboo leaves, dragons in relief, chrysanthemums flowers, blossoming cherry tree, perched birds and the most popular and sought after village scenes, the bowl is supported by four mythical dragon masks. The bowl is particularly large, heavy and very well crafted, by one of the most rare and outstanding Chinese silversmiths.
