19th / 20th Century Victorian five piece tea and coffee service on a tray, comprising a tea kettle on a stand with burner, coffee pot, teapot, sugar bowl and cream jug, very rare and desirable "Louis Pattern" style, each piece beautifully chased with flowers and scrolls, leaf-capped handles and cast scrolling feet, each lid is applied with a cast shell and scroll border and surmounted by a cast finial beautifully modelled as an eagle. The set rests on a very large and impressive solid silver tray, not original from the set but matching in style and by the same manufacturer, oval form, applied cast gadrooned border and handles, engraved with scrolling foliage and centered by a large coat of arms. Hallmarked English silver (925), London, the kettle year 1899 (d), the rest year 1900 (e), Maker's mark G&SCoLd for Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company Ld.

The set rests on a very large and impressive solid silver tray, not original from the set but matching in style and by the same manufacturer, oval form, applied cast gadrooned border and handles, engraved with scrolling foliage and centered by a large coat of arms.
"Louis Style" services are extremely rare and sought after, it is particularly rare to have a complete set including the tea kettle.
Each piece is Hallmarked English silver (925 standard), London, the kettle year 1899 (d), the rest year 1900 (e), Maker's mark G&SCoLd (Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company Ld, important silver manufacturer). Each base is further stamped with the retailer's mark "GOLDSMITHS & SILVERSMITHS COMPANY Ltd 112 REGENT ST LONDON W." and numbered. The large tray is also Hallmarked English silver (925 standard), Sheffield, year 1891 (Y), Maker's mark "WGJL", also for Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company Ltd, the tray further stamped "GOLDSMITHS & SILVERSMITHS COMPANY 112 REGENT ST".
