19th Century Georgian silver cup & cover, richly gilt, campana-form, the tapering body is applied with two cast snake shaped handles and with a band of scrolling foliage above a Greek key band, the cover is surmounted by a large acorn finial and acanthus leaves. Hallmarked English silver (925), London, year 1808 (N), Maker's mark W.B for William Bennett.

DESCRIPTION

Antique 19th Century Georgian Solid Silver cup & cover, of massive size and extremely heavy gauge (4084 grams), richly gilt, campana-form, the tapering body is applied with two cast snake shaped handles and with a band of scrolling foliage above a Greek key band, the cover is surmounted by a large acorn finial and acanthus leaves. This is an extremely large and heavy piece, due to the large size it can be used as a wine or champagne cooler. Each part is fully Hallmarked English silver (925 Standard), London, year 1808 (N), Maker's mark W.B (William Bennett).

CONDITION

In Great Condition - No Damage, just general wear.
