A 20thC ITALIAN HARDWOOD FRAME ARMCHAIR c.1950
A lovely and very rare armchair or easy chair made in Italy in the middle part of the 20th century. The chair has possibly been reupholstered in a sumptuous mustard yellow floral fabric, in keeping with the style and age of the chair. What really sets this chair apart from its contemporaries is the gorgeous wooden structure realised entirely out of hardwood, possibly ash or beech wood, commonly used in Italy in the mid 20th century. The armrests are carved in a distinctive Art Nouveau style which would look fantastic in any interior, whether it is modern, Art Deco, Art Nouveau or mid century. A great piece of Italian mid century craftsmanship which oozes quality and style.
