19th Century Victorian Silver stunning and impressively large Monteith bowl, raised on a circular foot, fluted body embossed with scrolls and vacant cartouches, applied cast scrolling rim and impressive applied cast lion's masks with hanging angular handles. Hallmarked English Silver (925), London, year 1892 (R), Maker's mark RMEH for Richard Martin & Ebenezer Hall for Martin, Hall & Co.

Antique 19th Century Victorian Solid Silver stunning and impressively large Monteith bowl, raised on a circular foot, fluted body embossed with scrolls and vacant cartouches, applied cast scrolling rim and impressive applied cast lion's masks with hanging angular handles.

The piece is outstanding and features an incredibly crisp and decorative decoration imitating the early Queen Anne examples, please note the extremely detailed texture of the lion's fur. Hallmarked English Silver (925 Standard), London, year 1892 (R), Maker's mark RMEH (Richard Martin & Ebenezer Hall for Martin, Hall & Co, great silversmiths).

The base is also stamped with the retailer's mark "James Aitchison to the King 80 Princes St Edinburgh".
