19th Century pair of Victorian Silver magnificent and exceptional comports / tazzas, richly gilt, in the style of the 17th Century Charles II tazzas, centered by an hand-engraved coat-of-arms. The coat of arms refers to the Scottish family Halyburton of Newmains, co. Roxburgh (please see Burke, "The General Armory of England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales", p.445.

Antique 19th Century pair of Victorian Solid Silver magnificent and exceptional comports / tazzas, richly gilt, in the style of the 17th Century Charles II tazzas, centered by an hand-engraved coat-of-arms.
This is a fine and most elegant pair of tazzas, made by one of the greatest Royal silversmiths of all time, extremely heavy gauge.
The coat of arms refers to the Scottish family Halyburton of Newmains, co. Roxburgh (please see Burke, "The General Armory of England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales", p.445.
Each piece is Hallmarked English silver (925 Standard), London, year 1858 (c), Maker's mark crowned RG (R & S Garrard & Co), important Royal silversmith (Queen Victoria appointed Robert Garrard to the position of Crown Jeweller in 1843, leading to the production of numerous pieces of silverware for the Royal Family. Each piece is also stamped with the Retailer's mark "Garrards, Panton Street, London" and numbered.

In Good condition - no damage, just general wear.
