20th Century Edwardian Silver very large Monteith Bowl / Wine bottle Cistern / Centerpiece, of circular form, twin cast figural handles modelled like winged female caryatids, the body is profusely embossed with a lovely scroll and floral decoration, huge vacant cartouche on each side, the interior is richly gilt. Hallmarked English silver (925), London, year 1908 (n), Maker's mark G&Co for Gibson & Co.

Antique early 20th Century Edwardian Solid Silver very large Monteith Bowl / Wine bottle Cistern / Centerpiece, of circular form, twin cast figural handles modelled like winged female caryatids, the body is profusely embossed with a lovely scroll and floral decoration, huge vacant cartouche on each side, the interior is richly gilt. This impressively large Monteith punch bowl can also be used as a Wine cistern, as can easily hold many wine or champagne bottles. Hallmarked English silver (925 Standard), London, year 1908 (n), Maker's mark G&Co (Gibson & Co). The base is also stamped Gibson & Co, Belfast.
