19th Century William IV Novelty Silver table lighter, very unusual form inspired by the Greco-Roman oil lamps, the central spirit chamber in the form of four columns applied with cast classical masks, applied floral border, removable central light and four lights modelled as flames, on a shaped circular dish with cast floral loop handles.

Antique 19th Century extremely rare William IV Novelty Solid Silver table lighter, very unusual form inspired by the Greco-Roman oil lamps, the central spirit chamber in the form of four columns applied with cast classical masks, applied floral border, removable central light and four lights modelled as flames, on a shaped circular dish with cast floral loop handles.

Hallmarked English Silver (925 Standard), Birmingham, year 1837 (D), Maker's mark R.E.A (Robinson, Edkins & Aton). Novelty lighters are very sought after, this design appears to be particularly rare.
