20th Century German Historicist Silver centrepiece bowl / jardiniere, impressively large, heavy and and highly-decorative, the lobed oval body applied with scrolls and openwork foliage inspired by the 16th century German silverware produced in Nuremberg, each side is applied with a massive figural handle depicting a dragon. Hallmarked German silver (800 standard), pseudo-mark "n" for Neresheimer & Co.

DESCRIPTION

Antique 20th Century German Historicist Solid Silver centrepiece bowl / jardiniere, impressively large, heavy and and highly-decorative, the lobed oval body applied with scrolls and openwork foliage inspired by the 16th century German silverware produced in Nuremberg, each side is applied with a massive figural handle depicting a dragon.

The base is Hallmarked German silver (800 standard), pseudo-mark "n" for Neresheimer & Co, important silver manufacturer active in Hanau in the late 19th / early 20th century.

In Excellent Condition - No damage.
