19th Century Georgian silver hot water samovar, of squashed bulbous form with reeded decoration, on a square base, standing on cast scroll and shell feet, applied with twin acanthus leaf handles, a hot water spout with a cast hinged shell handle and the lid applied with a large fruit finial. The front of the samovar and the lid bears a family crest.

Hallmarked English Silver (925), London, year 1827, Maker WE (William Eley ll).

DESCRIPTION

Antique 19th Century Georgian exceptional solid silver hot water samovar, of squashed bulbous form with reeded decoration, on a square base, standing on cast scroll and shell feet, applied with twin acanthus leaf handles, a hot water spout with a cast hinged shell handle and the lid applied with a large fruit finial. The front of the samovar and the lid bears a family crest. All parts removable and maintains the original tube to contain the hot iron. Hallmarked English Silver (925 standard), London, year 1827, Maker WE (William Eley ll).
