Hallmarked English Silver (925), London, year 1740 (e), Maker's mark GS for Gabriel Sleath.

Antique 18th Century rare and impressive Georgian Solid Silver lidded Flagon, of tapering cylindrical form raised on a skirt foot, scroll back thumbpiece, large hollow handle terminating with a heart. This flagons were used both for domestic or religious use. Each part is Hallmarked English Silver (925 Standard), London, year 1740 (e), Maker's mark GS (Gabriel Sleath, very important silversmith, please follow this link).
