Antique 18th Century pair of rare and exceptional Georgian Solid Silver Sauce Tureens, each navette-shaped on oval pedestal foot, Empire style swag and ram's head decoration and beaded rims, matching domed covers chased with leaves and terminating with a stunning cast urn-shaped finial. Each engraved with a family crest.

This is a magnificent set, stunning quality and design, heavy-gauge in a rare Empire style.

All parts are Hallmarked English Silver (925 standard), London, year 1782 (g), Maker's mark DSRS (Daniel Smith & Robert Sharp, important silversmiths).
