20th Century rare Italian Silver impressively large decorative Ewer, 58 centimeters tall and 3470 grams, partially gilt and made in the Renaissance / Mannerist style, it closely reminds the pieces made by Benvenuto Cellini. Hallmarked Italian silver (800), Milan, mark in use after year 1970. The Maker's mark is rubbed, but by style and quality can be a piece by Guido Fiorentini.

Description

Antique Style 20th Century rare Italian Solid Silver impressively large decorative Ewer, 58 centimeters tall and 3470 grams, partially gilt and made in the Renaissance / Mannerist style, it closely reminds the pieces made by Benvenuto Cellini, the sculptor and goldsmith of the 16th Century considered the greatest of all time. The ewer is cast featuring a decoration with scrolling leaves and stylized flowers, impressive cast handle, hinged lid surmounted by a cast vase-shaped finial. Each side is applied with a gilt oval cartouche. The base is Hallmarked Italian silver (800 Standard), Milan, mark in use after year 1970. The Maker's mark is rubbed, but by style and quality can be a piece by Guido Fiorentini, a silversmith active in Milan until December 1971, specialized in very decorative presentation pieces such as this.
