Description

Antique 20th Century Italian Cast Solid Silver figural statue, beautifully modelled like the famous Roman statue representing a drunken Faun (dating to the Hadrianic period, 117-138 A.D.), discovered at Hadrian's Villa in Tivoli in 1736 and now in the Capitoline Museums in Rome (please follow this link for more information). The large sized figure features exceptional gauge and quality. Both the base (filled) and the body are Hallmarked "800" for 800 silver standard (the piece has been also acid tested), the figure is typically Italian and it dates to about 1900-10.
