19th Century Chinese export silver wine goblet, impressive and exceptionally fine, the double skinned body fully chased and embossed with a dense scene of preparations for battle and receptions before nobility, the highly decorative stem engraved with a floral bands and beaded boarders, standing on domed foot applied with grapevine leaves and engraved with a cross-key and acanthus leaf boarder.

DESCRIPTION

Antique 19th Century rare Chinese export solid silver wine goblet, impressive and exceptionally fine, the double skinned body fully chased and embossed with a dense scene of preparations for battle and receptions before nobility, the highly decorative stem engraved with a floral bands and beaded boarders, standing on domed foot applied with grapevine leaves and engraved with a cross-key and acanthus leaf boarder.

The decoration is extremely crisp and detailed, the goblet shows the best decorative techniques used in Chinese export silver of the time, such as stylized foliage and the most sought after by collectors of export silver 'village and battle scenes', both cartooshes applied with Chinese symbols.
