19th Century Exceptional Burmese, Myanmar Silver Thabeik bowl, repousse' decorated in high relief depicting different traditional scenes from the Burmese mythology, showing detailed figures set against a chiseled matted background in eight different arched panels.

DESCRIPTION
Antique 19th Century Exceptional Burmese, Myanmar Solid Silver Thabeik bowl, repousse' decorated in high relief depicting different traditional scenes from the Burmese mythology, showing detailed figures set against a chiseled matted background in eight different arched panels.
The top chased with scrolling bands and base decorated with a thick band of overlapping betel leaves. The quality of the bowl is outstanding, heavy gauge and very crisp. The base engraved with a makers 'bird of pray' mark (see Wilkinson's page 41).
